The price is on the page.
Every standard case has a flat, published fee. We set each one from the time that kind of case typically takes, then it is fixed: no bill for extra hours, no refund for fast ones. The diagnostic comes first and is credited to whatever comes next.
$97 base +$400 per typical hour = a flat fee
That is how each price was set, not how you are billed. The fee you see is the fee you pay.
Step one, every case: the diagnostic
$1,697credited to your case
Before we quote a case we find out what the IRS actually has. Not what the letter says, not what you remember. The transcripts.
What you get
- Signed Form 8821 and 2848 so we can speak to the IRS for you
- Full transcript pull: account, wage and income, and return transcripts for every open year
- Collection statute and assessment statute check for every balance
- Review of any notices, liens, levies, and prior agreements
- A written plan: what has to be filed, every collection alternative you qualify for, ranked, and the fixed fee for each
If the plan shows that you qualify for hardship status or a first-time penalty abatement, the diagnostic is usually the whole fee. We do not charge for a case that does not need one.
Hardship diagnostic
$897credited to your case
Household income at or below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines, the same threshold the IRS uses for Low Income Taxpayer Clinics.
Same transcripts, same statute check, same written plan. We ask for a short income statement at intake. If a clinic can take your case for free, we will tell you that too.
Standard cases, all-in prices
Each price below includes the diagnostic. It is the total you pay for the matter, start to finish.
Bankruptcy and divorce
Work that usually arrives through an attorney. Flat fees, set the same way. The bankruptcy and divorce pages explain each one.
Prior-year returns
The IRS will not negotiate until you are in filing compliance. We prepare the years that actually have to be filed, which the transcripts tell us, and usually that is fewer than you fear.
Add-ons, per return
- Each additional state or local return: $120
- Each K-1 from an entity we do not prepare: $160
- Each rental property: $240
Undocumented stock or crypto trades are reconstructed as an hourly project at the standard rate.
When the menu doesn't fit
These cases get a written flat-fee quote after the diagnostic, set the same way. You get the number before you decide, and it does not move.
- Balances over $250,000
- Payroll tax and Trust Fund Recovery Penalty cases
- Cases with a Revenue Officer assigned
- Multiple entities or multiple audits running at once
- Appeals, Collection Due Process hearings, and Tax Court petitions
After the case: monitoring
$29per month, cancel any time
Most resolved cases that go bad go bad quietly: a missed estimate, a new balance, a notice to an old address. We watch the transcripts so you don't have to.
- Monthly transcript check on every year and balance
- Alert when a new notice, balance change, or compliance flag appears
- Annual reminder before the IRS reviews your agreement
- Priority scheduling if a new problem shows up
Pricing questions
- Why do you publish prices when other resolution firms do not?
- Because the price of a standard case is knowable. We set each flat fee from the time that kind of case typically takes, at $97 plus $400 an hour, and then it is fixed: no bill for extra hours, no refund for fast ones. A firm that will not tell you the price before a "consultation" is pricing the call, not the case.
- Is the diagnostic fee really credited?
- Yes. The all-in prices on this page already have the $1,697 diagnostic subtracted. If your case is an installment agreement, you pay $1,697 for the diagnostic and $400 more when you engage us for the case, $2,097 total.
- Who qualifies for the hardship diagnostic?
- Household income at or below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines, the same threshold the IRS uses for Low Income Taxpayer Clinics. It is the same diagnostic for $897 instead of $1,697, credited to the case the same way. Most hardship cases resolve as currently not collectible status or a first-time penalty abatement, so the hardship diagnostic is usually the whole fee.
- What if my case does not fit the menu?
- About one case in ten does not. Balances over $250,000, Payroll tax and Trust Fund Recovery Penalty cases, Cases with a Revenue Officer assigned, and a few other situations get a flat-fee quote in writing after the diagnostic, set the same way. You see the number before you decide, and it does not change.
- Do I have to pay everything up front?
- The diagnostic is paid when you start. Case fees can be split across the life of the case on a schedule we agree to in the engagement letter. Nothing is billed that was not in writing first.
- What does the monitoring subscription do?
- For $29 a month we check your IRS transcripts every month and tell you when something changes: a new notice, a balance adjustment, a missed estimated payment, a compliance flag that could default your agreement. Most defaults are preventable when someone is watching.
