You keep the client. We handle the IRS.

A referral desk for tax professionals and attorneys who do not want to run collections cases but do not want to send a client to a national firm either. Same published prices, a partner rate when you bill it, and a report back at every milestone.

  • You keep the client. We handle the IRS matter and report back to you.
  • Direct-bill: you engage us and bill the client yourself. Our fees are the published rates less the partner discount.
  • Client-bill: we engage the client directly at the published rates and copy you on every milestone.
  • Co-branded or quiet. Your choice per client.
  • No commissions or referral fees paid in either direction, which keeps you clear of fee-sharing rules.

Two ways to bill

Direct-bill15% off

You engage OnCourse and bill the client yourself. Our fee to you is the published price less the partner discount. Mark it up, pass it through, or bundle it; that is between you and your client.

  • Diagnostic: $1,442 (retail $1,697)
  • Installment agreement: $1,782 all in (retail $2,097)
  • Offer in Compromise: $2,802 all in (retail $3,297)
  • Prior-year 1040: $847 per year (retail $997)

Client-billretail

We engage the client directly at the published prices. You are copied on the engagement letter and every milestone, and the client comes back to you for everything that is not the IRS matter.

  • No invoice to you, no collections risk on your books
  • Client sees the same prices they would see on this site
  • You choose co-branded or quiet

Attorneys: two pages built for your practice

Bankruptcy

Tax dischargeability analysis from the transcripts, a memo per year, plan compliance filings, and post-discharge lien work.

Divorce

Pre-decree tax review, after-tax property division analysis, innocent spouse and injured spouse relief, and decree language the IRS will honor.

What you get back

At intake

Confirmation within one business day, the engagement path, and the diagnostic start date.

After the diagnostic

The written plan: transcripts summarized, statutes, every option ranked, fixed fee for each. You see it before the client does if the matter is quiet.

During the case

A note at each milestone. If the IRS requests something from the client that touches your work (a prior return, a bookkeeping question), you hear about it first.

At close

A closing memo with the accepted terms, the compliance obligations that keep it alive, and what to watch for. If the client wants monitoring, it runs through us at $29 a month and you stay copied.

Send the matter you have been sitting on.

Tell us the client, the problem as you understand it, and how you want to bill. We take it from there.

Referral questions

Why no referral fee or commission?
Because it keeps you clean. Attorneys cannot share fees with non-lawyers or pay for referrals under the Model Rules, and CPAs who accept commissions owe written disclosure and are barred from them for attest clients. A partner rate on a direct-bill engagement gives you the same economics with none of that.
Does the client know OnCourse is involved?
Your call, per client. Co-branded means we introduce ourselves as working with your firm and copy the client on milestones. Quiet means we work under your engagement and report only to you; the Form 2848 still has to name us, so the client sees our name on the authorization.
What kinds of matters do you want?
The cases a national firm will not take: balances under $50,000, a handful of unfiled years, a penalty abatement that just needs to be written well, a levy that needs to come off this week. We take larger cases too, but the small ones are the reason the referral desk exists.
Will you try to take over the client's tax prep or advisory work?
No. The referral desk exists because we want your resolution overflow, not your clients. If a client asks us for ongoing work we send them back to you.
How do I send a matter?
Use the referral form. Tell us the client, the problem as you understand it, and whether you want direct-bill or client-bill. We reply within one business day with the next step, which is almost always the diagnostic.
